Dahi vada is most popular chat recipe in northern part of India.
Specially Dahi vada or Dahi bhalla have always made a place in our Holi Menu.
Usually we made dahi vada with Dal, but today i am trying to make Rava or Sooji
Dahi vada. We have not required to soaking and grinding process to make it and
can make instant as require. These Suji daha vadas are very tempting and fluffy inside. Let’s start to cook this
famous Street chat Dahi Vada Recipe.
Ingredients require for Sooji Dahi Vada
Semolina (Sooji) or Rava – 1 cup
Curd (Dahi) – 1 cup
Asafoetida (Hing) – 2 pinch
Cumin (Jeera) Powder – ½ tsp
Garlic Paste – ½ tsp
Salt – to taste
Baking Powder – ½ tsp
Black Pepper Powder - ¼ tsp
How to Make Sooji Dahi Vada
Take semolina in a
bowl, add 1 cup of curd, hing,Jeera, Garlic paste, Salt, Baking soda and Kali
mirch powder. Mix well. Add some little
water and make a thick batter. Keep the
batter aside for 30 minutes to set. After 30 minutes mix the batter again. Heat the oil in a wok for fry the Vadas.
Put the batter with a spoon into hot oil in shape of
vada. Fry these vada till turn golden by flliping the side to side. Fry these
vada on medium flame. When they change color to golden then take out from oil. Now
take the vadas and put them in a bowl of water so that they become soft and
fluffy. Secondly, the oil from them gets drained. After one minute, squeeze and
drain them out from the water and place them in the serving plate. Add some sugar in curd, mix it well. Firstly
pour some curd over the vadas, followed by Salt, Red chilli powder, Roasted
Cumin (Jeera) Powder and tamarind ( imli ) chutney. Garnish with coriander
leaves and serve this dahi vadas.
