Sambar Recipe in Hindi- सांबर बनाने की आसान विधि



Sambar Recipe is a very popular dish in South Indian cuisine. Mix Vegetable Sambar with rice is one of the main courses in South Indian meals. Most commonly used vegetables are Bell peppers, brinjal, tomato, drumstick, pumpkin, radish, ladiesfinger, onion etc. This video is how to make mixed vegetable sambar. 



Ingredients needed for  Mixed Vegetable Sambar Recipe
Tur dal -  100 gms (soaked in water for one hour )
Onion – one (finely chopped)
Carrot (gajar) – one (finely chopped)
Cauliflower(phool gobhi) – two tbsp (chopped)
Bottlegaurd (Lauki) – two tbsp (cubed)
Green peas (matter) – 1-2 tbsp
Curryleaves – 10 to 12 leaves
Tomato – one (finely chopped)
Ginger garlic paste – one tsp
Green chilli – one  (finely chopped)
Oil – for tadka
Tamarind (imli) – lemon size ball (soaked in water)
Turmeric (Haldi) powder – ½ tsp
Salt – to taste
Sambar Masala – 1 tsp
Red chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Asafoetida (hing) – 2 pinch
Mustard (Rai) Seeds – 2 tsp



Method for cook Sambar recipe
In a pressure cook take soaked tur dal. Add cubed Bottleguard (lauki), Carrot (gajar), Cauliflower (phool gobhi), onion, green peas (matter), finely chopped tomato, ginger garlic paste, turmeric(haldi) powder and salt.  Add three time water then to tur dal. Mix all these well and close the cooker with lid. Let cook till 5-6 whistle of cooker. After 5-6 whistle of cooker turn off the flame. Open the pressure cooker and add tamarind pulp and mix well.

Heat a tbsp of oil in kadahi, add mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves and dry red chilli. When these splutters then add red chilli powder. Also pour Turdal & vegetable mix into kadahi. Add one tsp of sambar masala and mix well. Add some little water if required. Simmer and bring everything to a boil. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with steamed rice or idli, dosa
